QUICK STATS: ~10-15% OF SUBSCRIBERS APPRECIATE FREE CHANNEL OFFERS

As a perk to further reward broadband subscribers for their continued patronage, a top-ten ISP launched a series of in-browser message campaigns that announced the availability of newly added channels, both streaming and video, to access free of charge. Each of the message campaigns introduced so far ran separately for approximately a week, and each offered a different type of channel to appeal to subscribers’ varied interests. The three combined campaigns reached approximately 3.5M subscribers, with results as follows:

ACTION BUTTONS LOCAL NEWS DOCUMENTARIES COLLEGE SPORTS
Got it / Sign me up 9.7% 12.2% 15.4%
Not interested 5.8% 9.8% 18.6%
TOTAL ACTIVE RESPONSE 25.5% 22.0% 34.0%

While not all message recipients were interested in a particular channel offered, approximately 10% to 15% responded positively, and overall active response came in at 25% to 34%, a figure that prompted the ISP’s staff to remark that, for these types of outreach communications, “PerfTech is the only way to go, the platform of choice.”

QUICK STATS: ISP REWARDS LOYALTY WITH FREE SPEED UPGRADES

PerfTech’s in-browser messaging platform is frequently the vehicle to announce good news. In this case, one ISP showed subscriber love by extending free speed upgrades as a loyalty perk to selected customers. The speed perk, which boosted both download and upload speeds on a permanent basis, was announced via an in-browser message for a week. The message featured the upgrade news and only a ‘Close’ button, which, if clicked, averted any repeat delivery.

As might be expected, response was significant with a 51.0% acknowledgement rate via ‘Close’.

QUICK STATS: 50%+ RESPOND TO EMAIL OPERATIONS ALERTS

A regional operator and PerfTech customer recently launched two in-browser message campaigns related to their email service. One campaign announced an overnight maintenance event, while a second, quick follow-on campaign announced the potential need to reset one’s email password to continue use. The two campaigns each ran for four days; the second began the day following the launch of the first (the initial maintenance alert). Both in-browser messages offered ‘OK, Thanks’ and ‘Close’ buttons, in addition to the ISP’s direct, customer-support phone number to call for help. Button results were as follows:

ACTION BUTTON MAINTENANCE ALERT PASSWORD RESET ALERT
Ok, thanks 27.2% 31.5%
Close 23.3% 26.0 %
TOTAL RESPONSE 50.5% 57.5%

More than half of message deliveries resulted in a one-time action as shown above. While PerfTech has no knowledge of the number of message recipients who phoned in, that number could only increase the total response percentage.
