PERFTECH ADDS OVER 2.6M SUBSCRIBER LICENSES TO CLOSE Q4 ’17

During Q4 2017, PerfTech received expansion orders from two of its largest U.S.-based broadband operator-customers.  In addition, the company added a Midwestern operator to its roster as a new customer.

The largest order was placed by an existing customer to expand PerfTech’s in-browser messaging system to cover over 2 million acquired subscribers, enabling the operator to standardize communications for many use cases across the operator’s entire footprint.  Message content will include branding and traditional information, such as usage and billing data, maintenance times, and other service information.  The order comprises subscriber licenses and equipment.  An order placed by a separate operator-customer adds .5 million additional subscriber licenses to its system to accommodate market growth.  Lastly, a reseller procured an order from a regional operator in the Midwest wishing to communicate via the PerfTech system.

“PerfTech’s knowledgeable top-tier customer base continues to invest in our state-of-the-art in-browser messaging system,” said SVP of Sales, Jane Christ, “a gratifying testament to the platform’s effectiveness and scalability, as well as to the PerfTech team’s support.”

QUICK STATS: COUNTDOWN ALERTS SPUR LAST-TO-ACT SUBS TO UPGRADE MODEMS

In order to improve speeds, reliability, and security, many ISPs have launched campaigns during the past several years to upgrade their subscribers’ equipment to Docsis 3.x levels.  The process that entails the order, delivery or pick-up, and installation of new equipment can take months and more to complete on a network-wide basis.  After successfully upgrading the vast majority—99.6%—of its base using PerfTech’s in-browser messaging platform, one Internet operator took a final step to bring the last .4% on board:  they launched a campaign to count down the days until the date that service to the older modems was discontinued.  Using PerfTech’s built-in scheduler, the entire campaign was easily implemented with a single policy.  Read more ...

PERFTECH ENABLES ARPU GROWTH DRIVEN BY TIER RIGHT-SIZING

For approximately the past five years, a prominent broadband operator has used PerfTech’s in-browser messaging platform to help achieve these objectives:

  • establish a tiered, billing model based on usage allowances and speeds
  • encourage users to subscribe to an Internet plan that best fits their data needs
  • foster a high level of customer satisfaction through “right-sized” performance

All of these objectives could be accomplished through one strategy:  voluntary tier migration.

Background

Many subscribers initially underestimate their data needs and choose an undersized Internet plan.  That instinct is then compounded by the ever-climbing growth in video streaming and other heavy data-consuming applications.  According to the operator, average data consumption among their subscribers grew nearly 5-fold, from 40GB to 189GB monthly, from Sept 2013 through June 2017.  It’s not surprising that this trend frequently produces a mismatch in service plan.   Read more...

PERFTECH WINS MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR EXPANSION ORDER TO CLOSE Q3

As Q3 2017 ended, PerfTech received a multi-million dollar order from one of its existing customers, a U.S.-based, top cable and broadband operator.  The order comprises subscriber licenses and equipment to provide PerfTech’s Bulletin System coverage across the operator’s entire current footprint, which has expanded roughly threefold since the original deployment.  Use cases for in-browser messaging will include transition messaging and branding to the operator’s acquired subscribers, as well as traditional communications related to usage, billing, maintenance, and other service-related areas.  The operator plans to complete deployment during Q4 of this year.

“Significantly, this order comes as the result of a detailed study conducted by the legacy operator to analyze the effectiveness of in-browser communications across all of its messaging needs,” stated SVP of Sales, Jane Christ.  “Internal groups were able to affirm PerfTech’s contributions to implement usage-based revenues, shorten late-pay times, and deflect call center load, among other benefits.  It’s great to have internal groups marketing for you and essentially verifying the value of your product,” she added.

QUICK STATS: HIGH RESPONSE RATES TO USAGE ALERTS AT REGIONAL OPERATOR

At the beginning of summer this year, a mid-eastern U.S. regional, full-service operator introduced usage-based Internet tiers.  To keep subscribers informed of their account’s current data usage, in-browser alerts are displayed when 80%, 90%, and 100% of their data thresholds are reached.

Each personalized usage alert is designed to give subscribers a heads-up on usage thresholds with the opportunity to see upgrade options before their data allowance is used up.  Response-button options are:

  • OK, thanks:  indicates acknowledgement
  • Show meter:  links to a logon to view current usage
  • Tier options:  links to information about data plans (this button not included at 100%)   ...Read more
