Platform Features
Scalability to support even the largest Tier One networks
Bulletin System supports a range of network sizes; typically from 5K broadband subscribers up to millions. Each single device that attaches to the network at an aggregation router can support up to 400K subscribers. The NOC-based managing device supports up to 3 million subscribers. All of the devices are stackable; thus a network of millions can be supported with relatively few devices, an advantage considering demands for space, power, and temperature control in very large installations.
Zero-latency performance
PerfTech’s technology results in high performance with zero latency. It allows the same hardware platform to support a wide range of applications simultaneously while maintaining time-stamped data on the delivery status of millions of messages on an individual-subscriber basis.
Failsafe, out-of-path operation
Because PerfTech devices can be installed out-of-path, Bulletin System devices can never cause a failure in the Provider’s network. Multiple devices can be stacked to ensure uninterrupted message delivery service in the case of a Bulletin System device failure.
Flexibility in network integration
Bulletin System devices attach to or are associated with existing routers and require no expensive external switches or additional hardware. Each device can support multiple routers, even asymmetric paths, through its six gigabit interfaces. When connected to an aggregation router, these devices can manage paths supporting up to 40 Gbps of total Internet traffic each.
Easy, secure administration
Bulletin System manages all devices and subscribers as a seamless whole from a NOC-based Bulletin Manager device. A highly granular set of permissions provides secure functionality subsets to various levels of network personnel; for example, technical support staff could view the alert delivery history of a particular user without any other access.
